Advice on day care for 9month old please

Hi all,
my 9 month old daughter has been attending a day nursery now for 3 weeks. she goes for 3 days a week. it is great but i have one problem...her napping!! At home she will go to bed at 12 until 1.30/2ish. in day care she will sleep for a max of 20-30minutes! this is it! as soon as one other baby in room makes a noise dd is jumping up! she seems to be such a light sleeper.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this? it means she is grumpy with them as she hasnt slept enough! i really dont know what to do! i hate the thought of her being unsettled. they mjority of babies in the room go to sleep at the same time. She is in such a good routine at home and i know if she slept better in nursery she would really enjoy it! they can get her over to sleep no prob! its just keeping her asleep!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

No advice, but I'm interested in hearing responses b/c I'm in the same boat! Cannon's been in this new daycare for 6 days (6 hours at a time) -- and has had terrible naps. Yesterday he slept for 20 min total (in 6 hrs), acc. to the caregiver -- normally he'd have had 2 one-hour naps by then!!

Hey I work in a nursery and this is a really common problem. But to be fair there's not that much you can do. Usually the babies soon get used to the new enviroment and will learn to sleep through the noise. Could they maybe let LO have a few smaller naps at nursery instead of one big one until LO gets used to the noise. Sorry not lots of advice but I'm sure LO will adapt to the new enviroment soon.

is it possible to put her in bed half an hour or so before the others or isn't that an option?

hiya. many thanks for all your replies! i guess she will get used to it eventually but may take longer as she is only in 3 days a week. She is just such a nosey baby and is too scared of missing something!lol. it may be an idea to try get her have 2naps instead of one longer sleep until she gets used to the noise but scared of messing up her routine too much. i will give it another week or so and see what happens. just feel sorry for the staff if they have a grumpy baby who needs more sleep and wont sleep! they will have theri work cut out! thanks again! glad im not the only one with these issues!any other words of advice welcome!xox

Would your daycare be receptive if you put a white noise machine next to her crib? That way it would kind of drown out other noises? I know that at my daughter's daycare, there was a baby who had trouble sleeping so they allowed her mother to bring in something like that. Just a suggestion

Hi my 9 month old is a right grump bag if he doesn't sleep enough but a delight otherwise. For this reason we went with a childminder so that LO can sleep on demand (he has 2 naps of 40 mins a day). Sorry, that's no hope at all but like a previous poster has put it must be a very common issue and one that babies get used to after a while.
