Paige had cruised since around 7 1/2 months, but didnt crawl. We had to pop her against something and she would edge her way along. She also didnt stand unaided before she walked, they came hand in hand for us. One day she let go of the box she was holding onto and stood for a couple of seconds. The same night, she was standing for longer and longer, then I stood her up in the middle of the floor and she took around 6 steps to get to her toy.
She was always very keen to walk though, and could do it holding on with one hand for a while before she did it herself. (she walked at 10 months 4 days)

My daughter had her first steps very early. She was 8.5 months. She always could bear weight on her legs even as she was 3 weeks old. Anyway, from around 6.5 months she could walk with us holding her 2 hands. As she was getting stronger I would place toys on the couch and have her lean up against it to play, but she never cruised. I did notice sometimes she would be standing there and not leaning on the couch or anything.

Then one day my mom was playing with her and said "go to mommy" and she took about 3 steps, so I was shocked. She had never even crawled yet. After that, all she wanted to do was walk and hold one hand. She kept tugging her hand away though, so I would wrap a thin scarf around her chest and just let her walk on her own with me holding the scarf ends, but so that I could catch her in case she took a header. So since she was about 9.5 months, she can walk on her own completely unaided, for a few minutes at a time before she loses her balance.

My LO cruised for just over a month before he took his first steps. He started letting go and standing unaided for a few seconds, then one day we stood him in the middle of the room and he took about 6 steps to get to the sofa. About a week later he started just letting go of the sofa to do a couple of steps to the next sofa and then that was it, he was off! He's been walking since 11 months xx

T started cruising at 7.5 months and did her first steps at 9 months 3 weeks. I just put my mobile on the sofa and stood her up and she waddled 5 steps over to it. She now is just enjoying being incredibly agile and speed cruising and standing for a minute or two and taking a couple of steps here and there. Still hasn't taken off like I thought she would! Don't think it will be long though before she starts walking properly.
