LO has a nasty virus.. 6th night with barley any sleep :( What would you do?!

LO is very unwell with a terrible virus, and he's currently sleeping in his pram, its the only way we can get him to sleep He put up a fight screaming for 4 hours non stop 2 nights ago until the only thing we could do is take him for a spin in the car to calm him down, then pray that he stayed asleep while transferring him in to his cot.. which he did. (We tried EVERYTHING!!) We've tried doing this last night and again tonight, but no joy. So we've had to rock him in the pram which is where he is now. (LO and OH are both sleeping downstairs for the second night!) I don't know what to do. I'll probably leave him spend tonight in there, but I need to get him to sleep in his cot tomorrow! I hate the idea of him sleeping in the pram, but also hate leaving him so upset when he's so ill. I'm in a no win situation! I've tried co-sleeping but that hasn't worked either. It's either drive about all night, sleep in the pram or no sleep at all/LO in a state! What else can I try? If the ONLY way of getting LO to sleep was in the pram, would you leave him there? I wish i could take this nasty virus away from him, its also so hard on me and OH barley sleeping for the 6th night in a row xx

Awww I hope your LO feels better soon. I'd probably call the doctor and ask if it's okay for him to sleep in the pram. It would give me peace of mind.

Yes I would let him sleep in the pram. It's not like it's a permanent thing and if it's the only place he will sleep then let him IMO. He needs to sleep to get better. Bless him, I hope he's feeling better in the morning

Definitely in the pram. DD spent 3 nights sitting up in her buggy when she had her first cold because she wouldn't sleep anywhere else. It was her first Christmas and it was utterly miserable - I know how you feel! Do whatever it takes to get through it with the minimum of crying.

I'd say whatever you can do to get him to sleep go with it, it's only temporary and sleep is what his body needs to recover.

Its awful isnt it - should improve soon - do what you can sleeping in pram is fine, make sure u and partner work in shifts so your not too tired. Run a redhot shower in your smallest bathroom and sit in with baby for a while before putting him down to sleep as it clears sinus x

We're on the downhill slope of our baby's first cold, too. We made sure she was at an incline (with her head elevated) while she slept, and used saline solution and a nasal aspirator. A humidifier can help, too. And our LO loves her swing and was very comforted by the swinging motion while she was sick. I see nothing wrong with leaving her in the pram (I guess that's a "stroller" in the US?) or wherever while she sleeps , temporarily, if it's all that will keep her happy, as long as she is safe in there. And I guess she'd be buckled down, right? So it's not like she'd suffocate or anything. Good luck!
