When did your belly go down after birth?

Hi Ladies!

My DD is 1 week old today and I have to say I am really pleased with how quickly my tummy has gone done. It seems to be more or less the same size as it was pre-pregnancy, although its wobblier and softer!

My DH commented this morning that he cant believe how quickly its gone down and said 'do most womens go down that quickly?'

Just curious?

p.s. also, what did you do to 'firm' the skin back up if anything?

mine deflated quite quickly and the jelly belly thing went away in a month or so. im just sporting a little pot belly now if you have loose skin (i dont) with stretchies, that wont ever really firm up back to normal

Mine went down straight away, was just loose and soft. I felt very lucky!

ETA- I paid for it, the after pains for the first 4 hours after birth were excruciating!

I have really bad jelly belly and stretchies, so I don't think mine will ever fully look like my pre-preg belly. But it had pretty much gone right down by 1 week pp. I haven't done any extra work yet, but planning on starting swimming and Zumba again soon. Also trying to make good decisions about food. I have 21lbs left of my baby weight to lose, so I won't know what my belly will look like for sure until I get exercising and lose this extra weight but I was very impressed how soon it went down.

XxX

Thanks - the skin isn't loose, and I got away without stretchmarks thanks to bio-oil (and genetics probably!) so hopefully the bit of wobble I've got will change as time goes on.

I didnt put on that much weight when pregnant so I suppose that makes a difference too (I was ALL bump, no extra weight anywhere else)

Ill keep using the bio oil I think to help it along! x

I was really naughty with food while I was pregnant, so I put on about 3 stone... However, I had lost 3stone in the 12 months leading up to my BFP so I haven't ever gone over 15stone... My belly just was MASSIVE so stretched loads lol.

My mum got loads of stretchies when she was pregnant with me and my bro. I also had really bad stretchies on my hips, boobs, legs and bum when I went through puberty due to a massive growth spurt too, so I guess mine are more genetics than anything

I am a tall girl and had a smallish baby so my stomach muscles didn't separate, so my belly was completely flat and identical to my pre-pregnancy belly 2 hours post partum. Obviously it took quite a few months to regain the same muscle strength I had before, but aesthetically it looked the same.

Had insanely strong contractions though whilst breast feeding with my uterus going back. Only had a day of them but they were like labour!

Im almost 7 weeks PP n my tummy is still quite prominant i did get pretty dam huge n very low all the way thru so that hasnt helped lol. When i look at it in the mirror it looks like a sad dogs face
I got stretchies with my first but none this time, thank god lo, but its still wobbly n jelly like. When i lay down tho ive got about 2-3inch gap where my muscles shud be which isnt good! so my bely will probly never go back to normal unfortunatley
