Nope, never stopped going out on my own. Hubby just always made sure he was within an hours drive or so during the last couple of weeks and started driving to work rather than getting a lift as he usually did, so he had a car if he needed it.

As everyone else has said, it's not like one second you're find and then the next you're in full blown labour and about to have a baby. I went into town shopping on my own (well ok, to get a McDonalds!) when I was 5 days overdue - it never occurred to me not to. Even if you go into labour when you are out somewhere then you'd just get yourself to a hospital - easy!

i guess i'm just thinkin it's gonna be like the movies where the womans waters break in the middle of the night and she wakes up her husband screaming and he's panicking to get to the hospital so he falls down the stairs, drops all the bags. etc and then he's driving eratically running red lights trying to get there before baby comes out in the car. lol

never.. are you suppose to?? lol

I made the most of my time off, maybe doing too much, my blood pressure didn't thank me for it. I used to get in the car and struggle to get out at the other end lol... i used to have to get big parking spaces.

I never stopped going out on my own either. With DS2 i went swimming a few days before he was born and with DS2 i went for a walk round Tesco when i was in labour and having contractions. lol.

Like everyone else said it's very unlikely you'll go into labour when your out anyway

ok some women have very quick labours but it's not something that you should stress about too much.

I didn't stop going out alone. I went to my midwife appointment for my sweep at 40+5 alone, had to do school runs, shopping etc

Early on in my pregnancy I thought that I would have started staying home... I recall when I was like 12 weeks or so seeing one of my FB friends who was 39 weeks was taking her dogs to the state park (45 minutes from here) for the day, alone, and I remembered thinking it was crazy of her to do because "she could go into labor at any moment!" Then when I got to that point in MY pregnancy, I realized how naive I had been.. I still went out and did whatever I wanted by myself because, hey, labor wasn't anywhere in sight. I would have actually been happy had SOMETHING happened while I was out and about..

I dident plan on stopping. I was at the pub (drinking milk cos I had horrible heartburn) 3 times in the week before she was born but she did decide to come 5 weeks early.

I didn't stop going out by myself, I live on my own 50% of the time so I'd have been stranded! However I did feel much more able to do things in the later stages of pregnancy than I thought I would. Kind of imagined I'd be a beached whale, but I really wasn't!

I tried to stop going out, just in case, but I was extremely restless! I promised my OH I'd stay home 38+3 and I ended up walking around our mall for a few hours... My water broke 12 hrs later. I'm just glad it didn't happen while out!
