I was induced :-) i had pessarys, waters broken and then the drip. I loved my labour and birth and I look back at it with very fond memories. Whether it hurt more than normal labour I don't know as it was my first baby. It did hurt, but labour hurts.... And that's going to be the case whether your induce or not. Focus on what you get at the end, if I had been in 10x's the pain I was it would have still all been worth it to see my little girl at the end. It's a beautiful thing your about to do - enjoy it!

Thanks for your replys, I've had 2 natural births so it's just all very new to me, a lot of people have just been saying that contractions are very strong straight away rather than a build up.....obviously labour is going to hurt lol it's just I've had 2such pleasurable births it's making me really nervous, on the other hand I can't wait to meet my little boy/girl.

I was induced with my second due to gd and preeclampsia...

Other than my complications (they had a hard time regulating my blood sugar so I kept passing out) it wasn't bad!

I was given pitocin at 8:00 in the morning, they broke my water at around 2 in the afternoon, and Laila was born at 6:00 in the evening! I should mention that I was around 2 centimeters before they began the induction. So, I only had a 10 hour labor!

Good luck!

I've only had one baby and she was induced. My contractions started at 7.30am and were 2 minutes apart straight away. I won't lie - it was agony and I was having back contractions which are even worse apparently. I lasted for 3 hours until I got an epidural and after that, it was amazing. Bub was born at around 3pm (so around 7.5 hrs total labour) after 50 mins of pushing - no tears or stitches, just a small graze. I loved my labour and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I was induced hun.my first baby so have nothing to compare it to. i was so scared even asked hubby to turn around on way to hospital. i had pessary but in at 7pm and was having contractions by half 9 by 11 they were every 5mins so they took pessary out and then my labour was more or less normal in the sense i didnt have to have drip or my waters broke. bubs was back to back but only had gas and air. in total established labour was only 5hrs so its not always days like some people say there induction was.
Try not to worry hun. i also wasnt at all favourable so they thought induction would take ages. have you looked into accupunture i had this day before induction and think it really helped.if u had it now it may bring on ur labour.
Good luck hun and congrats x

My two were both induced they weren't terrible my second was better personally I only had an hour and 20 minutes established labor four pushes and she was out. Your going to be fine hun just stick to your guns and stay confident you've done it twice before your gunna breeze through this!

I was induced. It was a breeze
19 hours of labor that wasn't bad at all until the last few hours when I got an epidural and only pushed for 28 minutes!

I was induced and had an amazing labour. The contractions were quite close together, but the time from entering active labour to giving birth took about 4 hours, and I found the pain very manageable.

My biggest fear was that induction would lead to further intervention, but I ended up having an extremely natural birth.
