Room thermometer - there's one built into my baby monitor which is great
Body thermometer - I use a tommee tippee one that came in a grooming set. It goes under the armpit. I must admit it is a bit of a faf on as you have to get the baby to hold still for something like 30 seconds for it to work.
Dont trust it - The other week my LO was off her food etc so I used that thermometer and it said she was 36.2, then she when all floppy and we had to get an ambulance out......... She was actually 38.5 and the ambulance man said the under armpit ones can be a couple of degrees out which is the difference between being fine and having a fever!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive since bought a Braun Thermoscan and its amazing - Stick in the ear job, quick and reliable xxx

True actually, when taking the temp under the armpit you have to adjust the reading! Although I can't remember what it is right now, so there's me being helpful.
