Best all terrain buggy for country walks?

we have an icandy but its not great for the great outdoors...so am looking at all terrains - we cant afford a new expensive one - so should i go for a new mamas and papas sport or a second hand brand like phil & teds / mountain buggy / out and about etc for around the same price?

we like going walking and are off to the lakes soon

I have a cheapie a mothercare xtreme, on offer for £200 at the moment. I also have an iCandy I didn't want ruined for off reading. The xtreme is good value, probably not THE best but great for us as I didn't want to spend a fortune on a second buggy that I was basically going to roll through poo! It's suspension is decent and her head definitely does less jiggling in it!
Others that have previously been mentioned as good are the out and about nipper, and the phil and teds explorer on threads like this before :-).
X

Honestly get your self a decent carrier, even the best off road buggies would be a pain on a dirt track with lots of pot holes and some of the public foot paths go through fields so you would have gates and stys(sp?) to contend with.

Very true, carriers are easier especially if you can swap it between you and oh, and let's you get over stiles....our main downfall on walks.
However try it out before you go, willow HATES hers....as in will scream as you put her in, and the entire time she's in there, kicking and screaming and head butting my chest...we've tried a different style to the same result...she just doesn't enjoy them, which is odd as she is fine if you carry her in exactly the same position without the sling....fuss pot!

What ones have you tried?

Have a look and see if there is a sling meet or library near you that way you can try a few different ones to see what you like.

We have a Jane Trider and its amazing. I have 2 dogs who require a tonne of exercise and all the best walks round here are off road so we needed something that was going to cope with every day off roading and the Jane is great. Its brand new out though so don't think you'd get it cheap but the older Janes get fab reviews with regards to off roading. In saying that we also use a baby carrier at times. I'd recommend an Ergo if you haven't already tried one.
