To wean or not to wean..

LO is 5 1/2 months and she's quite a big girl She did sleep through the night for a while and then started waking up again recently. To begin with she would look for milk but now she's waking a lot and just chattering away to herself very loudly, surprised she hasn't woken DS! She doesn't take a lot of milk during the day but puts on lots of weight and when she does waken through the night I end up offering milk because it sends her back to sleep (she doesn't take that much of it). With DS I weaned around this time due to silent reflux so I'm not really sure if these are signs to wean her or not??? xx

not necessarily. But you could try sitting your LO at the table with you when you eat and see if she takes any interest in your food.

She does show interest when I'm eating but I'm not sure if it's real interest in the food or she just enjoys watching me eat lol x

I wouldnt bother offering anything yet.

My LO is also 5.5 months, ebf, and there are no signs of any need for early weaning.

He is content and sleeping well so I dont want to disrupt anything!!

PS - your LO only just turned 5 months - still 4 weeks til they are 6 months!!!

We weaned at 5.5 months, but we did baby led weaning. Alex was feeding every thirty minutes day and night so it was time.

I started a week ago. Same as u she started waking more and eating loads. Her sleep has got worse so far though, but the same weekend we started weaning she learnt to sit independently and got her first tooth so I'm v happy she was ready!

Yeah, I always wonder which way to work their age out, I'm counting weekly so was just going by every 4 weeks being a month, which obviously isn't the case lol. Yeah, I think I'll wait it out a bit longer and see how she goes, the longer the better tbh, so much more difficult with two! x
