Baby Name Advice

We chose the name Bayleigh for our daughter, who is due on May 12th. On another website, the women were EXTREMELY harsh about why we shouldn't spell it that particular way. Apparently this spelling is "how you would spell a dog's name" and "setting her up for failure." Im pretty torn because I LOVE the spelling and we've been calling her Bayleigh since before we found out if she really was a girl, but at the same time, it makes me wonder if the spelling is really that awful? I just don't like "Bailey." Do you have any suggestions or anything? Or should I just not care what other people think of it?

I ADORE it as Bayleigh! I think its adorable, but the spelling makes it seem like a name she's not going to "grow out of" when she becomes an adult!

If you really are having an issue with it and are letting these women get to you (which you shouldnt!), maybe Baylie? Bailie? Baylee? Bailee? I dont know. but i love it the way you had it!

Oh dear, those comments seem a little harsh!

I think the spelling is fine, although I'm not a fan of 'leigh' personally, it's certainly not setting her up for failure.
I like Bailey for a boy, for a girl I would choose Bayley or Baylee but if Bayleigh is your preferred spelling then stick with it.

I like the name Baileigh, but I'm not a fan of it being spelt that way though! I think it is more likely to be spelt wrong, but my LO is called Teagan and people don't spell that right either
It's ridiculous people have been harsh about the spelling, don't let it get to you!!

I personally am not a fan of the name, but the spelling Bayleigh looks much nicer imo than Bailey anyway! x

I love it and I love bayley for a girl as a name anyway! Think it's so cute! So go with whatever spelling you want! Those women don't have to call her everyday, or live with her name so they can just keep their opinions to themselves I say! Xx
