Poll for Boy's First Name!

So I’m sort of set, but think it would be fun to see what others think. I’ve been thinking of baby names quite single-mindedly since finding out I’m having twins. For the sake of all possibilities (before I found out the genders) I had 8 names to come up with; two sets of first and middle names for each gender.

The girl names were easy. I’d had one girl name circulating in my head since TTC and the more I thought on it the more I liked it and it’s become my number one choice. I only found out afterwards that the first name is No. 1 on the charts right now, but I’m not allowing that to sway me. So, please no negative comments on that front.

The second girl name was also fairly easy and coincidentally brought about the second boy name as it’s a feminization of a male name that I like equally as much.

Problem comes in that the first boy’s name is being difficult. Of course, I could just use the second boy name (now I know I’m having a girl and a boy), but I really want the chosen middle name and don’t like the sound of second boy first name with first boy middle name. Hope that made sense.

So the set list at this point:

Girl 1: Emma Leann

Meaning: (Emma) complete whole, entire universe, all-embracing, 愛茉love/affection/jasmine, (Leann) light, beautiful woman, sweet, meadow

Reason: (Emma) saw an adorable little girl in a restaurant while TTC and though it was a precious name for a little girl, maybe a bit dated, but a name she could grow old with too. (Leann) A variation of Ann, my Mother’s middle name, that I’ve always liked.

Girl 2: Erika Lynn

Meaning: (Erika) eternal ruler, noble, honorable, leading others, 恵莉花 favor, blessing, grace, kindness/jasmine/flower. (Lynn) from the lake, waterfall, fresh as spring water, ruddy-complected.

Reason: (Erika/Eric) My very first friend as a child was named Eric and I’ve always liked the name. (Lynn) I like the lyrical quality with the name Erika.

Boy 1: _____ Alexander

Meaning: (Alexander) defender of mankind, great leader, helpful

Reason: I’ve always wanted to name my son Alexander because I’ve never met one who wasn’t a very upstanding and kind person.

Boy 2: Eric Anthony

Meaning: (Eric) eternal ruler, noble. (Anthony) highly praiseworthy, priceless

Reason: (Eric) see Erika. (Anthony) My recently deceased maternal grandfather’s middle name; willing more for the sake of my mom who suggested it than because I had any special relationship with him. I like the name well enough despite not so much liking “Tony”

So, my daughter’s name is set. Emma Leann. But my son still needs a first name! Eric Alexander doesn’t sound as good as Eric Anthony with my last name, but I want to use Alexander, so still trying out first names.

The short list is as follows (with meanings):

Ian (believer, handsome)
Ethan (firm will)
Aiden (fiery spirit)
Emrick (immortal)
Emmett (truthful; sincere)
Jayden (bright-eyed)

NOTE: I’ve almost certainly got a preferred name among this list, but want to hear the unbiased opinions of others so will refrain from posting my doubts with any of these names. Let the poll begin!

Also, SORRY for the novel-length post. As you can tell, names are important to me!

I voted Emmett.
aiden would be my second choice.
I have only ever known female Jaydens so it feels very feminine to me.

Emmett would be my first choice followed by Ian and then Ethan. Don't care for the other three much at all.

Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking. I'm in the USA and here, Jayden was number 11 last year in names for boys.
