Is Lucy okay by itself?

My gma's name was Lucille and I love the name Lucy. If we have a girl it will be called Lucy but I am undecided whether I should honor my gma with a full name of Lucille and just call the baby Lucy. Some really like Lucille (Lucy) others have told me they think Lucille is too old sounding. I am really undecided. Can Lucy stand alone as a solid name or is it better to have a formal name like Lucille?

I think Lucy is totally fine on its own, and I think it still honors your gma with it shortened.

I think Lucy is nice just as it is and still honours your gma.

I'm not fond of the name Lucille, but think Lucy is an adorable name all by itself!

I have a preference for Lucille - a lot of this lovely old-fashioned names are coming back and will stand out a bit in the sea of nickname-names and you can still call her Lucy.

I think it's a gift to your child if you give her a classic name that can be worn in different ways - that way she'll get to make some decisions about it later. I came to appreciate much the diversity of my own name.

I LOVE Lucy but I like the idea of giving her Lucille as a full name. Lucy has become so popular recently that Lucille will make her stand out a bit!
