Thanks all for your replies! It seems most people associate Roxanne with a prostitute and Stings song. I agree with Wind, that song was released over 30 years ago now so I don't think kids born this year are gonna pay much attention to it at all.

Never doubt the timeless power of Sting's peerless musical genius! That being said I love the name Roxanne and I love the nickname Roxy. I really dig "R" names and it gets extra points for the X and Y. Overall if I could get DW to go with it I'd pick Roxanne if our spud turns out to be a girl.

I really like Roxy/Roxie when used as a nickname, but i don't like roxanne (sorry) xx

i like it! i had a family member who changed her name from joyce to roxanne! She was really outgoing and fun to be around and i think the name worked for her! if you like it go for it! x
