I ADORE the name eloise but my OH wasn't keen so we went with Cadence.
Absolutely hate having to correct people on how to pronounce her name.
They always pronounce it CAD-DENSE when it's actually KAY-DENSE.

I love the name Eloise, so soft, pretty, &feminine! I never met an Eloise in the US so wasn't sure how to pronounce it when I first joined BnB. I think once you correct people, they will remember it correctly the next time! I never regreted my son's name.... but also I was a single mom at the time, so I got to name him whatever I wanted! If I regretted my baby's name I would def call him or her by a nickname or middle name.... your baby is young enough that a new nickname will easily stick! Ellie, Ella, Bella are all cute names!

My real name is Eloise... My parents felt the same as you did, especially with pronounciation and spelling, people always got it wrong. Now I'm known as Ella as it was a shortened down version of my name but still sounds pretty similar. When people hear me get called Eloise they are confused as to why! But important people like family and friends know my real name and some still choose to call me by it. Even occasionally my parents... Im starting to grow on the name myself

my daughters name is Alyssa and we have mispronounciation, and spelling issues all the time, for some bizarre reason people can handle spelling and pronoucning Lyssa, which is what we call her, but stick the A infront of it, and iverything is up the the air?
lmao its not difficult!
however i love her name and i dont regret it at all, our other choice was Tegan and i just dont think that would have suited her x

Elouise is beautiful!!

I actually went for a long time thinking Abigail didnt suit her name, even now she suits it but I think its still could be interchangeable if that makes sense?

We have done the whole- call her 'Abbie' thing but I dont like that cause, well, thats not what we named her?! Would be strange to call her abbie now...we chose 'Abigail' because we liked it, not with the intention of calling her 'Abbie' otherwise thats what we would have named her?

Others tried shortening it to Abbie at the time and we persisted it was Abigail. eventually everyone around us clicked that we didnt like it shortened and now we dont have any problems!

If you are persistent with correcting most people you come into contact with regularly get the hint!

Eloise is beautiful- I know what you mean about pronouncing names- everyone asks is my baby is called (AH VA) or (A-VAH) instead of AV-A it does my head in- i have loved my babys name for so long but sometimes i wish i had of chosen something that wasnt confusing or as popular- i know she will go to school with loads of other Ava's
