I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20's I was not having cycles at all, was refused clomid because the midwife wanted me to try more natural ovulation inducers I gave up and lost weight and went on to have 4 girls. all my BFPs happened after weight loss.

Thanks MzPortuguese I went for my exam today, and it turns out it was too early to see much of anything on the ultrasound, but the tech says my uterine lining is nice and thick (whatever that means!) I mentioned having PCOS to the midwife who I also saw briefly, and she said that doctors shouldn't automatically sentence those with PCOS to infertility, and that it doesn't necessarily go hand in hand. So let's cross our fingers for you!

I was diagnosed with PCOS in July 2011, after a year and a half of crazy cycles. They were anywhere from 26-77 days. I started Metformin in August at 250mg and went to 1500mg gradually over a 6 week period. It made me really sick and I was in pure hell although it did some what regulate my cycles to 35-40 days.
I went off it for 6 weeks cause we were moving and I was going away with a friend for a weekend and didnt want to feel like shit the entire time. After we were moved and settled I started to wean myself on it again, that time it was NO side effects at all... go figure?!
Dec 7th my Doctor gave me a requisition to have an HSG, she also gave me a prescription for provera and Clomid. The provera was to kick start my period if it decided not to show up after 40 days. It did show up on CD 38. I took 50mg of Clomid CD3-7, I had my HSG done on CD 10 (it was all clear) Then on CD 27 I got my I hope this helps you in some way! I should add the second time I weaned myself on to the Metformin I was only at 750mg when I got my BFP, I never increased it after that.

Ive had PCOS since I was about 16 and I have had two cycles of 7.5mg of Femara + 2000mg of Metformin...and just found out Im pregnant. Dont let it make you feel like a death sentence because it CAN happen. It took me three years and my old Dr used to tell me that I would never conceive until I lost weight and I started seeing a new Fertility dr in January and never even mentioned it. Good luck and lots of baby dust!!
