"pulling" sensation in right breast

My LO is 2.5 weeks old and we have been EBF. The last couple days when he feeds on the right side I get a painful pulling sensation from under my arm. There is no lump there or pain unless im feeding.... any thoughts on what this is and how to fix it?

It usually happens after the letdown, and then lasts for the full feed....

You have a thrush infection in your milk ducts.

I had the same "drawing" feeling through my shoulder blade when I had thrush and the midwife told me it's because the infection is all the way back to the milk ducts - as apposed to being isolated on the nipple / babys mouth.

You need to see your GP - you need a prescription for Daktarin gel for LO's mouth, Daktarin cream for your nipples and a full course of Fluconazole for the internal breast infection.

Also get hold of some acidophilus (from Holland and Barratt) it's a probiotic which will help erradicate the infection and will also keep it from reoccuring if you keep taking it.

Hope you're pain free soon!
