tingling breasts

I've googled this and everything I've found says you get the tingling feeling when the baby is actually sucking. I get it at other times. should I be feeding my son when I get it? I assume it's let down but I don't get any leaking when it happens (though I get plenty at other times).

Apparantly other things can trigger it but I've had it happen with no obvious trigger! There are alot of very experienced breast feeding mummies on the site that may be able to advise you more hun x

thanks ladies - it is weird, and usually so out of the blue with no obvious trigger. though sometimes it comes on when I hear Adam crying. It makes me happy, in a strange way, to know that my boobs are still working (I supplement formula as my supply isn't sufficent).

it's where the milk has been triggered to come down into the ducts by your nips ready to feed...i get it from all sorts such as bending down, hugging little one tight when boobs quite full, moving breast pad...! sometimes it cues some leakage with it and other times not...its perfectly fine hun

Lol i used to get it all the time, sometimes if she cried or others if i was in the shower..pretty much anything would set it off. You're lucky you get no leaking with it though

Yeah, I get it too - the midwife said it's my boobs filling up or letting down.

Yes, it's the letdown. If it bothers you, take your arms and gently push on them. The pressure helps it to go away and not leak..
