Fussing during a growth spurt

LO appears to be in the middle of a big growth spurt. This afternoon she is fussy a lot at the breast and fed most of the last 48hours.

I'm at the point now where the boobs are as empty as they get and she is only getting the re-fill dregs. When she comes off I try her on the other side, where she settles for a couple of minutes then starts fussing. She is clean and changed, burped ect. I've tried to distract her with play, but she just wants to suckle, even though there is very limited supply to her current demand.

As she is wanting to feed so much I am not getting a chance to fill up enough for her to have a good meal.

Any advice?

Keep letting her feed and suck as much and often as she wants to, even through the fussiness. Otter would out right fight with my boobs during growth spurts (punching them and everything).

Her need to suckle more, even if she isn't getting much, is her natural way of telling your boobs she needs more. They will learn to catch up to her in a few days (usually 3-5) IF you let her to it as much as she wants. If you try to limit her time at the breast, catching up will take longer.

Always make her work it out at the boob! You'll both get through it.

Darcey has been doiong this for a day or two and i was wondering what it was she was doing. She starts off fine and is relaxed and than just seems to be really irritable and keep throwing her head side to side and then unlatches and latches back on and never seems to relax when feeding, this goes on for a while untill she settles down and is then feeding and suckling for what seems like hours.

We're having this too, but have noticed my supply slowly increasing so i just keep letting him suckle whenever he wants to!
