I was 21 when LO was born, I'm 22 now and I've breastfed since he was 20 minutes old I had never considered feeding him any other way! My best friend who is also 22 breastfed her son for a few days but gave up due to sore nipples and pumped for 2 weeks until her milk dried up (she was also giving formula, that's why her milk dried up). None of my other friends my age breastfeed but my friend who is 30 is breastfeeding her daughter who is 2 days older than Leo

We had latching problems from the start due to my huge boobs and flat nipples but we're slowly working through the problems and I know in a couple more weeks everything will fall into place. It's been hard but SO worth it

Hi, I'm Katt and I'm 19 years old!

I've been breastfeeding my son for 6 and a half months and going strong. I'll probably continue until he weans. I also donate my extra milk to babies in NICU's. I also NIP and don't cover up. Love it!

I want to find out what I have to do to donate to the NICU that Preston was in. During that time I was pumping every 3hrs around the clock and I now have over 80 bags of milk in my freezer but he hasn't had a single bottle since getting home. I was thinking of keeping just some of them for just in case or the occasional bottle and donating the majority of it there. I know the nurse said people do it but it has to go through the bank so I need to find out what exactly to do

I had my first when I was 19 and expressed for 3 weeks while I was in the NICU before my milk dried up (using bad pump & not eating).

I had my second 8 weeks ago and I'm 21 now and have been breastfeeding since day 1! All my friends my age that have had babies do not breastfeed, I don't think any of them even attempted. I have one friend that tried but started giving formula before he milk came in and it just created lots of problems for her and I think she's given up now.

I often wonder if people judge me when we're in public and see me nursing my DD because of my age. I always feel insecure

I've just turned 22 and I've BF'd from birth. We had a shaky start - he wouldn't open his mouth AT ALL for 8 days, so I expressed and cup fed. He had to have some formula in hospital as his blood sugar got low and he couldn't regulate his temperature, but I hated giving it him and it made me all the more determined to succeed Fortunately, we managed to crack it and we're still going strong. Except now he's started biting me, so I'm nursing a rather broken nipple at the moment. All the joys, eh?

I NIP almost daily and used my BF shawl a grand total of twice, once on a bus and once to see how it worked. Most of my husband's colleagues BF, but none of my friends, although my best friend did try but was giving some stinking bad advice and her milk dried up through lack of stimulation

I don't think of myself as young. Most of the girls I went to school with are on their second by now!

everybody
im 25 (top end of the 'young breast feeders'... although i still feel 18
i had my eldest at 18, 2nd at 20, 3rd at 22 & 4th at 24 ... (and not having anymore!)
when i was preg at 18 , breast feeding is all i ever knew - im one of 7 all bf. my big sis had a baby at 16 & she bf, she got preg at same time as me & planned to bf her baby. one ante-natal my mw started talking about bottles & sterillising etc - i told her i was not going to need them & she was shocked!! she just asummed i was going to ff - how judgemental!!
I persevered through feeding dd1 even though my nipples were cracked & bleeding (& i my nipple is attually scarred!) fed her u until 13months as i did with dd2 & dd3. ds4 is 8months & i strongly believe in feeding my babies when they need it where ever i am!! (even if it means feeding perched on a display bed in ikea as i did last week LOL!!!)

I NIP but i dont need to cover up. I use H&M Mama tops, theres no messing around, no flesh on show , you just move a bit of material to the side and let LO latch on. I feel really much more confident in them and no-one knows what you're doing (looks like ur cuddling )
