So far I am only expressing about 22oz a day. I think it would be more, but sometimes I go 4 hours between daily pumps and only pump once in the middle of the night. I've got the baby blues pretty bad, so I am finding things quit difficult so far. I am doing the best I can. I have a bit of formula on hand just in case, but was able to get a little bit ahead with the BM supply by supplementing with formula for 3 bottles a day a couple times. Now it seems like I have enough not to have to supplement. But I know I need a bigger supply than 22oz a day. I'll get there, just waiting for the blues to pass.

We pumping ladies need to stick together because it can be difficult at times considering all the other things we are taking on as mommies.
By the way I think you are doing wonderfully, just keep going 1 pump and feed at a time. Your supply sounds great and it can increase loads, really until about 12 weeks.

I don't EE, but I do pump sometimes when she wont latch... I only get 1/2 ounce each time, out of both breasts combined... My LO is 2 weeks old today. We've been giving her formula, and she still isn't up to her birth weight...

I have to give formula due to low supply, tried bf but LO wouldn't stay awake for feeding even now when I do the odd bf he still goes to sleep then immediately wakes up hungry, I had tried for 3 hours going from breast to breast and he still was not ok, by the end we were both frustrated, tired and he was still hungry. I had pre-e and was on a magnisium drip so had to pump and dump from day 1-3 also he had jaundice so I couldn't play around with bf and him not gaining so he had formula right from the start.
I used to get a bit more in the beginning pumping but it has decreased a bunch but I was mistakenly sleeping through the night instead of pumping during prime hours which I am sure had decreased my already low supply.
When I express I get about 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce both breast combined and I am currently taking fenugreek. I have PCOS and diabetes which are said to have an effect on supply. I am calling my doctor to try the prescription med to get my supply higher. I use a lansinoh double electric pump and pump every 3 hrs, it is really demoralizing to pump for 20+ minutes just to get barely an ounce but I am determined to push on until I dry up. I can give my boy about one bottle of ebm a day. It is good to see other moms doing this very hard task!

I'm ee for lip and tongue tie, also my lo has severe reflux. I pump about 30-35oz a day, but only express 3-4 times a day as I'm a lone parent family at the moment, as my hubby works abroad. Going to start fenugreek next time I make it to the shops!

Well done everyone who's managing to ee, it's blinking tough!

I'm quite discouraged also. I'm hooked up to the pump right now. I spend like 4 hours a day hooked up to this darn thing. It's getting really old REALLY fast.

Which pumps do you have?

Just wanted to offer encouragement to everyone. We should all stick together on this one.

R3ady4baby- at 1 week old I was spending an hour pumping to get less than 1oz, couldn't believe it when people were saying they got 4-5oz in 20 mins, was so jealous, I persevered and now I am one of those people.....it does get easier and quicker as your milk comes in and your boobs get used to the pump. I also upgraded my pump from a crappy tommee tippee one which really helped.

Duejan2012 - keep going, we all have wobbly days, I had a day 2 days ago, my lo was screaming while I was stuck to the machine, ( i struggle doing hands free despite having a medela freestyle) and I just thought "is it really worth it?" but chose to continue and having a run of good days now.

thank you I still dont know what to do. I have been power pumping for two days now and still dont see any difference in my milk supply all im getting is about an once and a half maybe 2. Im driving myslefe crazy My DH is working so now i have to care for both my children by myself so that means like absolutly no time to pump... I have a playtex nurser double automatic pump. I think it works well. Probly not has well as those hospital grade ones but i think it emptys me out witch i thought was important.. I just dont know if it is worth doing this when all im able to pump is one bottle total per day
