Honestly, the people who have said that are probably envious, or perhaps didn't succeed with BFing themselves and are feeling a bit guilty. I didn't actually tell anyone I would be BFing, partly in case it didn't work out but partly because I knew some people would have an attitude about it. If I were you I would just smile sweetly and say "we'll see". BFing is totally achievable 99.9% of the time, just takes determination! x

Sorry you're not getting much support I think all that negativity would make me even more determined to prove people wrong.

You can do it, and there's lots of support here for when you have a wobbly day (we all have them in the beginning, don't give up!)

I agree. I noticed that most of the people who were not supportive to me BFing fell into this category.
Good luck with your Bfing journey! This forum has been a huge support for me and really helped to reassure me whenever I felt like I wasn't going to succeed or had a problem. It's surprising how much misinformation is still out there, even in the health field, about Bfing.

Do you have any friends that have breastfed, even maybe acquaintances you can share with? What about sisters or SIL's?

My mum breastfed with all 3 of her children, so I don't see why she is being so discouraging to me. I've never met Oh family (long story) hopefully I will meet them when I've had the baby.
But I plan on giving breastfeeding a go 100% no matter what anyone else says

Good luck Hun! When I had my eldest I had the same, even from health professionals, people thought I was making life too hard for myself. If you're determined and stick to your guns then you can do it! xx
