Expressing advice

I'm starting to express for when I need to go out or if I'm goin somewher n can't feed ds myself

Iv been storing in bags n putting in freezer but wondering how much or how many times i should express in a day so I don't damage my supply for now?

Iv just expressed from one boob n got 4ozs quite quick but wondered whether to pump the other boob as I no I can get more but obviously still want milk ther for his next feed?
He feeds every 2 hours so don't no how long it takes to build back up? x

If you don't plan on expressing full time just do it after a feed

I think once you thaw breast milk it is good up to 6 hours .. i think google it and get a forsure answer on that . i pump at least once or twice a day and my baby is three weeks old sat. and i already have almost 50 bags of breast milk lol some have 3 oz in it up to 7 or 8 oz so when i do decide to stop bf ill still have some for him for a while lol ,..... i ususally let him eat from a bottle at least once or twice a day also just to get him use to it u never know what will happen and he needs to eat from bottle just incase ...

Once the milk is thawed it's good for 24 hours in the fridge or 1-2 hours at room temp. If you are going to be out all day with it, I would store it in a cool bag with ice pack until you get ready to use it. Freshly pumped BM is ok at room temp for about 6 hours.

You are supposed to throw away any milk that LO doesn't finish as the bacteria from his mouth can get in the milk. One way to avoid this is to only pour a couple ozs in the bottle at a time so there is less waste. I have actually stuck a bottle LO has drank from back in the fridge to use again at her next feed as long as it's within a couple hours, but this is not advised.

Fresh BM is good for 6 days in the fridge (but I'm always playing it safe so I say 5 days just for good measure)

I'm not too sure about this one actually. I imagine it's probably ok for a few hours, but I'd probably stick it with an ice pack if you're not going to use it within 2 hours or so just to be on the safe side.

If its bad you'll know by smelling it. Breastmilk doesn't have much of a smell.
At one point I had over 300 oz in the fridge. I'm actually having a hard time using it all.
