first period at 10 months and it's horrible!

I posted the other day about my periods not being back yet - well seems like I spoke too soon! I am having my first period since 2009 as I didn't get my periods back between pregnancies, and it's horrible!
I had a week of feeling really depressed and anxious for no reason which I now realise was PMT (I always used to suffer with it), now my period is SO heavy and I feel wiped out. Is this normal for a first period, and do they settle down?

Poor you.

I've heard plenty of people moan about their 1st PP AF. Mine came back a couple of weeks ago and I was lucky - not too heavy and only the mildest of cramps, compared with pre-preggo.

I have been irregular my whole life I average 2 periods a year and I know they are awful and would wipe me out for the first few days, just complete exhaustion.

I'd say pp it would be worse as well, in all
Honesty if it continues to be heavy and your still feeling wiped I'd talk to your GP, theyay be able to at least give you some decent pain relief

My first postpartum AF was when DD was 9 months old... and it was pretty bad. The flow was quite heavy. I've had 3 in total (so far) and they are still heavier than pre-pregnancy, but my cramps aren't as bad. I would say that they have gotten lighter though (from 1st to the past AF).
