LO is failure to thrive, should i Bf the new baby?

i'm really struggling to decide to be honest.

My midwife just assumes i will breastfeed the new babyb but i am having doubts.

My LO gained well for two months after a week or so of the usual inital latch/sore nipples issues. After the first week or two we were doing great. I posted in here a few times about his then complete still weight, poor gain and then weight loss. We saw a peadeatrician, went to feeding two hourly round the clock, eventually started substituting one feed with formula. Nothing worked.

We have now been prescribed a high calorie formula milk which we give him as milk feeds, and use for cooking and drinks with meals etc. We are still only brestfeeding once a day, and to be honest that is more about me trying to feel a bond with LO as i'm suffereing quite severe PND.

I'm worried we might have similar issues with the new baby. And honestly i know i wont have the time to dedicate, to gp/HV/hospital apoointments with two babies as i have been able to do with LO. Part of me wants to just use formula from the start to avoid the issues. But then the idea of making bottles at 3 in the morning doesnt thrill me.

Anyone else had issues with one LO then no problems feeding the next?

Thanks for any advice

I had problems with my first - poor weight gain, loss of 14%, I topped up with formula from 2 weeks old and then used formula only from 1 month onwards.

This baby, poor weight gain again, but I stuck it longer and did not supplement although midwives and hvs advised me to.

I am still ebf at 4.5 months on and LO is doing good - still very low weight, but content!!

Good luck and congrats!
