Mastitis is evil!!! RANT!

I have mastitis! It's awful. I have chills, sweats, flu bones, headache, weak limbs and a very painful, tender breast! This is crap! Antibiotics haven't kicked in yet...feel like I am dying! (drama queen eh?)

You're within your right to feel sorry for yourself! It's not nice at all!!!

I hope you're feeling better soon - in the meantime remember to take acidophilus so you don't end up with thrush whilst on the antibiotics.

I don't know if i have a blocked duct or actual mastitis. I am in agony... flue chills and aches, my breast is soooo painful... i have just taken some pain killers and sent my husband out to buy me a pump. This is hell, i think we have every right to feel sorry for ourselves. This seems like a whole lot of pain for wanting to give our babies breast milk. This is the second time i have got it i had it in the other boobs 2 weeks ago. This is shit!

I had mastitis for 3 weeks that wouldn't respond to antibiotics and then a breast abscess that I had to go to hospital every few days for two weeks to get drained. It was the most painful and depressing time. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to continue bf, but 1 month later still going strong!

Make sure you get plenty of rest and fluids and feed, feed, feed. Hope you feel better soon x

Oo it's evil! Defo take antibiotics they help after a day! And feed from the bad boob even if it kills!!! U have the right to feel sorry for yourself!!!

you're not being a drama queen OP, when i had mastitis you've never seen anyone run to the docs so quick!!! i felt DREADFUL. i even let two medical students (male) watch the doctor examine me and squeeze my nipples, all i cared about was the flippin antibiotics!!! dont worry they should kick in soon, are u taking brufen??

That sounds awful! You poor thing! I am on the mend now thankfully! 8 days of antibiotics and paracetamol :-)
