Transitional milk - keep it or throw it out? (frozen)

Hey all - I had my baby 8 weeks early and have had a high milk supply from the moment he was born - i seem to have been producing about 6 times more than what he needs and have been freezing my excess milk.

I have a few frozen bags of transitional milk which i looked up is more high in protein than mature milk, would the transitional milk do him any good now that he is passed that stage (1 month + old)? Should i keep it or just throw it out as i have heaps of frozen mature milk as it is anyways plus he is getting full feeds from my boobs anyways currently. Is transitional milk of any use now or should i throw it out?

Cheers!

Hiya, I'd say keep it (can"t bear the thought of chucking breastmilk!). I remember giving my son defrosted transitional milk when he was around 4 months old. He drank it no problem.

The early milk still has colostrum in it (or so I've read ) so I would keep it for sure. LO is sick for the first time and I fed her the early milk a couple days ago, thinking her body could use the colostrum right now.
