Not long till one arrives and nervous about BreastFeeding ....HE:LP

Hi

Im due in just under 3 weeks ....

I Plan to breastfeed for only 6 Weeks ( My choice ) However im scarred that the 6 weeks will be soo hard as i hear stories that Babies only feed for 10 mins then 40 mins later Feed again and theres no routine ..... or structure

Can any body give any advice as i am gong in blind and want to try have some sort of routine ???

All babies are different and change as they develop.

My LO is 3m old tomorrow and is exclusively bf. in the beginning I had to feed her every 2h as she had a touch of jaundice but then after a week she would eat differently day by day.

One day - every 4h, one day every 2...

They also have cluster feeds at night too, to establish supply - and also do this on growth spurt weeks.

However, my 3 other friends who bf have same age babies who sleep through the night...

So don't be put off as every baby is different regardless x

I really wouldn't worry about routine, whether you breastfeed or not a newborn will just feed when they need it.

To be honest, at the beginning it can be hard to get correct but you do learn, I found at about 4 weeks it got easy and now at almost 3 months it's so easy! The bond and the closeness you feel is lovely, it's amazing knowing you are making your LO grow with your milk

very rewarding!
