So we wen to the hospital. Saw the LC. Turns out her latch is too shallow. She will go on nice and deep then through the feed push the nipple forward and bite down on it. We spent from 7.00-10.30 trying to get her to stay on correctly. She keeps pushing the nipple forward leaving little or no areola in her mouth. LC is going to call me in the afternoon with info on hiring a hospital grade double pump.
Baby isn't tongue or lip tied she just gets more milk how shes drinking but it's blistering and cracking my nipples. She did say it
Might get better as her mouth gets bigger and to try her on the breast every day or two.
I dont feel so bad knowing she'll still get BM I'm just gutted she won't take it from me without causing so much pain!
That sounds exactly like my LO's latch. He goes on PERFECT... and three sucks in, he's spit enough of the nipple out to be really really painful for me.
I'm expressing too now - good to know am not alone in these feelings of guilt.
