Establishing breastfeeding after baby been in Neonatal care?

Has anyone got any tips or advice.

We're not sure how long he'll be in for so firstly I'm gonna express my colustrum so he doesn't miss out on that.

Anything people can offer me will help hugely xx

Im sorry hes in neonatl hun my daughhter was in for 3 or 4 days nill by mouth all i can say is dont pump too much as i ended up with an over supply x the told me when i was in hosp with her to just try my best to pump they took a pic of her for me so i cud pump while lookin @ her helped it flow also dont stop pumping just coz the colustrm stops so if u pump for 30mins do the whole 30mins till times uup xx

No direct experience of this, but if you can't feed baby directly you need to make sure you establish supply, see http://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/p...insupply-pump/

Your very welcome hun - make sure ur eating enough.. i know when harmonie was in nicu i found it hard to eat which doesnt help with milk production . Make sure u look after urself ok? Ul go thro alot of emotions the next few days just remember soon ul have ur baby home if u wanna chat pm me xx
