8 wk old, bf but no poop since Friday

My little guy hasnt pooped since last Friday morning. He seems okay, farting and all but hasnt pushed out any thing for three days. Suggestions? We have massaged his belly and pumped his legs but nothing has moved it yet.

It's normal at this age for them to go 10 days without pooping so I wouldn't worry at all xx

Yeah around that age for my son he would poo about every other day then all of a sudden he wouldn't go for 3 days then 4, 5... I called the doctor and they said it was normal for breast fed babies to stop going so often around that age because their body is absorbing more nutrients and is creating less waste. They gave me some recommendations if I thought he was constipated. They said he could have an ounce of apple juice which is almost like a laxative. Massage the belly like you did and she also said to take a Q-tip and put Vaseline on it and rub the anal area to stimulate a bowl movement, but don't put it inside. I gave him apple juice and did the Q-tip and he went poo later that day. After then he would still go almost a week without going but he was never constipated. I wouldn't worry about it unless he was very fussy and in pain. I'm sure he is okay =)

This sounds crazy but my LO was constipated for the past few days, i thought something was wrong with her because I'm sick, I'm worried she would get it. I stuck a rectal thermonather(totally spelled that wrong) to take her temp cuz she felt warm and it all came out!! and.. she stopped crying.

My little one is totally breastfeed and can go over a week without pooping. It will probably work itself out, I wouldn't worry at this point.

Thank you all! I wasnt too worried about it until last night when he just became inconsolable with gas and discomfort. I ended up calling his ped. this morning and he suggested putting 1/2 tsp of Karo syrup in a bottle of breastmilk. Did that this morning and four hours later, he pooped and felt so much better! Like having a new baby with all those smiles again.
