Thanks everyone. Went to a bf support group and saw a health visitor too, he's getting referred for his tongue tie now, he still has thrush so needs more medicine and have just been advised to keep unlatching and relatching him when my nipple starts to slip out of his mouth.
Hopefully things will improve soon!

Good news about the referral. Sometimes minor tt can cause more problems with feeding than very obvious ones.
You may need to exaggerate the pain/feeding problems to make sure they snip the tt. I live in the middle of two pcts. In one they snip all and in the other only if baby has trouble gaining weight or feeding is near impossible. I did a bit of research and there are virtually no risks from having it done - so even if it makes a small difference it is worth it. My Lo cried less than with her jabs and she had it done at 6 weeks which is quite late.
