Both mine have had a pacifier and it's never been a problem? My son was born early and they gave him one in hospital to help develop his suck/swallow.

I never heard you weren't supposed to

Gabby took one early, about 2 days after she was born. They say it helps against SIDS

Don't be worried as a lot of babies need to suckle on something to find comfort. I gave my LO a dummy and he had no nipple confusion at all, infact he loves his milk. You are doing a great job!

I tried twice in the early weeks and he refused it which I was pleased about. I'm so glad now he doesn't have one.
If it doesn't cause any issues with feeding then it will probably be ok.
I'd always advise against them though. But sometimes, they are useful
