yes! and also as I had group b strep, my LO had antibiotics for the first 3 days (not sure how long it'd take to come out of their system) but have been on anti b's for my UTI and uterus infection. phew, that seems like lots of good reasons as to why she may have green poo's which are not worrysome!

thanks for the support ladies. wish i had've come on here last time i was breastfeeding for support

Weird my hv said it was a Sign of over feeding! and that the milk he took extra wasn't digested so came out green. Basically I don't think there is a difinative answer but my lo's nappies went back to normal after a few days. Try not to stress about it x

this made me laugh! its just so funny that we get given such different advice from the professionals!

our baby has bad nappy rash and one midwife suggested vasaline as a protective barrier on dry skin would be the best thing on such a little one, the next midwife (the one who said about underfeeding) was disgusted with this advice and said no way should we do that and that it would make things worse and said the only thing is nappy rash cream.

FYI a combination of both techniques seems to have worked but seriously, its very confusing out there even when you're a second time mum and have a little bit of knowledge on babies

It's really concerning actually because had it been another mum, perhaps a first time mum whose only BF support was that midwife she could have given up BF or started giving formula top ups eventually leading to the end of BF, there have been quite a few cases of this on the forum, including ladies being bullied into giving formula top ups because their baby was still a few grams (literally as little as 2g!) off birthweight at 10 days (when the NHS now allows 2 weeks minimum to gain it back). I really think sometimes that midwives don't think that one throwaway remark could lead to the end of BF for many women. It's probably a bit OTT to suggest making an official complaint but certainly if your midwife is part of a team let someone more senior on that team know what she said and how it knocked your confidence xx
