How come some days I have powerful letdowns and feel them but other days I don't?

My breasts feel really deflated and I don't feel letdowns and can't express anything...but earlier this week my boobs were very full and I felt every letdown and could spray out milk...

Why does it vary like this? Baby is feeding like normal...is this fluctuation normal?

I have no clue, but I've wondered that myself. I know boobs are never truly "empty" but sometimes they feel empty with no letdown and other times I'm borderline engorged with a major pins and needles feeling, and it can be the exact same amount of time between feeds.

Don't get it. /shrug

I didn't even consider that lack of sleep could effect supply...went thru a rough patch recently where LO wasn't sleeping at all and still feel I'm recovering...

How much I eat in a day, and what, fluctuates also, so this could be effecting supply? I guess I'm not sure how MUCH I should eat as my appetite is ravenous but I still have baby weight to lose so that makes me tempted to cut back.

I ALWAYS drink at least 5 liters of water a day though.
