Anyone elses under 6m old not interested?

Roman just isnt interested in feeding these days ive had a blocked duct on 3 occasions now and think i have the start of mastitis in one boob again. He feeds very briefly (5 minutes or under) every 4-5 hours I reckon. When my boobs start feeling sore I try and get him to feed and as soon as i put him in cradle hold he just cries. When hes tired he doesnt comfort suckle to sleep, just wants his dummy
Im worried about his crappy feeding and how its going to affect his weight. hes already a smaller baby.

anyone go through something similar?

My daughter feeds way less than my son did - about 5-10min every 4-5h. She usually feeds 5x/day. This is WAY less frequent than my son was - I think he was still eating every 3h at this point. Also I notice that she can go a long time between feeds if I don't offer - 6+h during the day. No idea why though but I've gotten a few blocked ducts from too long between feeds.

She is really big though so she must be getting enough. Is Roman healthy, happy, doing well, dirty/wet nappies, etc? He might just be small and not actually a problem with his eating schedule.

Do you think the dummy is a problem - like he is using it when he is hungry? My LOs both had one, but when they are hungry out it goes - it's boob or nothing.

Is he more rejecting of the breast that has had the mastitis? Sometimes the mastitis can make your milk taste salty and metallicky?

DS is 5.5 months and he has periods where he will go for days of not eating very often at all followed by a manic feed-a-thon where I can barely do anything.

I think the 'don't offer the dummy, its the boob or nothing' as advised by sun sounds like a good idea. I guess you just keep offering. I find with DS he will cry when I pop him in the cradle hold and then 15 min later if I offer again you would think I hadn't offered for 5 hours!!

I actually meant that when LO is hungry she won't keep the dummy in her mouth - she wants boob or nothing! The dummy doesn't pacify her at all. But she isn't very attached to it like some babies are.
I do keep offering though - some days I feel like if I didn't offer, she wouldn't eat at all!

I struggled to get a good feed from LO anywhere but a darkened bedroom at around the 4 month mark. I think it's pretty normal.

I was going to suggest teething too as you say he's been grumpy.

Imogen is a week older than Roman and i'm struggling to get her to take a full feed unless we're lying down in bed...not so bad when we're at home, but not so great in a restaurant! She is feeding more regular than Roman as well...I just put it down to her being more interested in what was going on around her then feeding...

...I never thought that I would say this but I do miss the long BF sessions we used to have...my little girl is growing up

I hope it gets better for you soon.
