When your breasts ate engorged that's when they feel sore. You can't determine your supply by this mine don't get engorged and sore anymore and I always have enough for my lo. Just keep feeding as normal or pumping in your case.

Your supply will regulate itself in the next few weeks and you'll likely feel less engorged. My concern is that it seems like you aren't pumping enough to keep your supply up. Are you only pumping 3 times a day total and not nursing at all? If you are exclusively pumping you need to pump every 2-3 hours around the clock at this point to keep your supply up. Milk is produced based on supply and demand. If you only pump a few times a day your body thinks it doesn't need to produce milk.

Same as above, the less you pump the less milk you'll make.

To keep up with baby you have to pump EVERY time they feed.

Might be worth trying some nice skin to skin with your LO to help latching issues as its a whole lot easier than pumping!

To keep your milk up you need to pump every 2-3 hours. Also many women don't pump a lot at once so don't feel discouraged because you aren't pumping a lot in one session.

We have some major issues. He will latch suck a little then make some gross face lol and not want anything to do with it. I have tried laying there and just letting him find it. He is not interested in that either. My little man seems completly uninterested in breast feeding. I have been trying to feed him mostly breast milk, but supplement with formula. I never knew trying to breast feed would be this hard

I have the same issues. My baby will latch for no more than 5 seconds or so. It's frustrating... I'm expressing every 3-4 hours and have kept my supply up. It's awful pumping in the middle of the night, but otherwise your body will stop producing milk..

It initially sounds like you might have a strong let down. Try expressing off a little before you feed then pop him on. You wouldn't believe how common it is to have a powerful let down and it can cause a fair bit of problems!

Try different positions, also in the bath, my LO still loves to go for a bath together and have a feed!!

I think coz it's so natural people think its going to be a breeze, it is to some but it is a learning curve!! A very steep one for some people!! I can promise (from my own experience!) that it does get better and it's so so much easier in the long run. It becomes more than a source of nutrition.

Just take it one day at a time hun xx

Sounds like it could be strong let down too. Try expressing a little off quickly before a feed.

It's basically just a wee build up of milk but it can come out really quickly which can be too quick for little babies and most them grow out of it in a few weeks.

Also if you're pumping through the night, 3/4 am is the best time for getting the most milk

Stick with it I promise it gets easier!! Xx

Thankyou ladies for the advice it really helps. I clearly have not been pumping nearly enough in order to keep up a supply Is there anything I can do to help my supply go up? Im scared that im going to dry up. I have some of that mothers milk tea that is supposed to help with lacation( tastes gross though lol) I just see more and more formula being used and it makes me depressed even thinking about it I always thought this was going to be easier....what a wake up call
