can i feed from one breast only for a couple days?


my right breast has a deep deep crack, i need it to heal its excruiating pain

can this be done?

Could you express from that side? I understand expressing can be sore too but perhaps less so? If you could, it will keep up your supply from that side.

I had a bleeding cracked nipple when my wee boy was tiny and that's what I did, expressed from the bad side for a good few feeds as it was a lot gentler!! I ended up freezing it so I had a wee stash for when I left him!

Might be good to look at why you have a crack though as you shouldn't in theory have any cracks. Check you've got a good position and latch. Get some good nipple cream on or even just breastmilk on your nipples!!! Fresh air is great but that's a wee bit trickier!!

Stick with it Hun, it will get easier xx

I had a cracked bleeding nipple about 3 weeks in. I either expressed or used a nipple shield for a few days. Like the pp said, fresh air saved my nipples! I started sleeping without a bra to let them heal!

my crack is a result from a peeled milk blister a month ago. it hasnt healed 100% and is a deep crack atm
