Eating habits and breastfeeding?

So I'm nearly 36 weeks pregnant with my first child and I've been thinking a lot about breastfeeding lately. I'd said right from my that I'd like to give it a good go and see how we get on with it but as the time is getting closer and closer to meeting my little man I'm just getting curious and wondering a few things.

I was wondering about diet etc and what kinda foods we're meant to avoid and everything whilst breastfeeding??
I'm not the healthiest girl in the world, I like to have my treats, y'know chocolate bars and fried food (not every day but at least a few times a week).

I plan on giving breastfeeding a go and I'd like to express as well sometimes so that OH and others can feed him too so they can feel a part of it.. But I'm worried about what I'll be able to/not be able to eat if I do get along well with breastfeeding.
Sorry if this sounds really dumb ladies, I just feel a bit clueless on it! xx

You can eat anything hun my diet is crap lol and baby has grown brilliantly. Only things to avoid is alcohol in large amounts (1 unit is usually fine tho but im sure others till jump on me for saying that :P )

breastmilk is always perfect for baby regardless of your diet out bodies are good

Booda is right, except for recreational drugs or excessive drinking nothing is a no-go while BF, your body will take what it needs to make good milk from you, if you're at all worried then take a good vitamin supplement (and this does not have to be a pregnancy or BF one at all) and just eat what you like in moderation xx

Thanks ladies, that's really helpful advice I'm glad I posted in here, cos its good to hear from other mums who have breastfed before and have experience themselves. I'm not getting too worried about it, as for the drinking I doubt I'll want to be going out much at all anyways once little man arrives so thats good
I was just wondering mainly cos when you're pregnant they say that there's a good few things you should avoid eating at all and wondered if it was the same when breastfeeding. xx

When BF there isn't really anything you have to avoid, there are some medications that should be avoided and aspirin is a no-no but that's about it. Xx

you can eat whatever you want while breastfeeding. As the others have said just avoid drugs and alcohol. Drink lots of water and if you like oatmeal that is a good food to eat while breastfeeding
And I would avoid using a bottle for feeding until breastfeeding is well established. Usually 4-6 weeks.
OH and others can do other things to feel included. Give baths, change diapers bring you food, do the dishes, do the grocery shopping etc..... especially in the beginning when all you are going to be doing is feeding LO and yourself and getting plenty of rest.
I would suggest finding breastfeeding support before you give birth, like a lactation consultant or go to a Le leche league meeting and get to know the leader so that if you do run into issues in the beginning you can get help as soon and as quickly as possible. The sooner you get help IF needed the better and happier your BF relationship with your LO will be.
