How far in advance do they recommend you start booking everything?

Like the church, etc.? We want the venue in a marquee if we get married in the summer, so what about that? And if it's a winter wedding what about the venue? How early do you send out invites? Book the food? Gaaaaah I'm confused!!

I don't need to worry about cake, flowers, photographer or dress makers luckily as I know one of each And I intend to make a lot of things myself like invitations, etc. so nothing to worry about there.

Sorry to waffle on, just thought I'd ask the experts :P To be honest I'll need help with pretty much everything! We're not engaged yet but I like to know everythng in advance because I know it won't be long now Thanks in advance

Tbh i'd book everything asap cos I left some things a bit later (like the hair and makeup lady) and my first couple of choices were already booked up and that was 6 months before my wedding! If you have your heart set on something then get it booked as soon as you decide on a date. x

Some venues get booked up to two years in advance during peak wedding season (May - September) so asap I would say. I've been lucky to get all my preferred suppliers, celebrant etc on the date I wanted x

I would start booking asap too!

My other half proposed in August, we found our venue in the September and booked it straight away.

And the date we wanted wasn't available because the registrar was booked up, so we had to choose an alternative date.

Where invites are concerned, most people send out 'save the date' cards as soon as they book their wedding date, so people don't book holidays etc around that time.

We are on a small budget and we are getting married in august on the bank holiday weekend so we are sending our invites by the end of this month.

Most people send them out 3 months before hand I do believe.

xXx
