Church wedding music...Help!

Just a quick question really.

We are having a church wedding, and I have no idea about music.

So those that are having a church wedding what are you going for?

I cant really imagine the traditional music, as it isn't really us, we like rock/metal music, but I doubt any of that will be allowed

Do you mean for during the ceremony (hymns) or down the aisle/whilst signing register etc? With regards to hymns or replacements, I guess you'd need to check with your vicar We're having some 'lighter' hymns - 'Morning has broken' (everyone knows it!), 'One more step along the world I go' (most people know that too!) and 'Love divine, all loves excelling' as it's beautiful

The ceremony music (played by saxophonist and pianist):
Entrance of the bride: 'Gabriel's Oboe'
Signing of the Register: 'A Song for Vinnie' and a piece composed by the pianist
Recessional: 'Arrival of the Queen of Sheba'

I suspect that whatever you pick for those parts will be fine but in terms of hymns... I dunno!

We had Pachelbels Canon in D for my arrival, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring for the signing of the register, and Vivaldi's Spring for the recessional. It just depends on how flexible your vicar is and whether you are having a string quartet/using the churchs organist etc x
