Help and Idea's for our budget wedding??

HELLO fellow brides to be

I need to pick your brains for idea's and help.

Were in the middle of planning our big day but have yet to book anything as we are still working out budgets.Ideally we would love not to spend more than £2000 but around this area for a nice doo your looking at £4000-£5000.Im going to be doing as much as I can myself so that I can keep my costs down but Im struggling to do all the basic stuff for under £1500

Here's my list of things(excluding venue and food/drinks)

Dress £200 wedding fair
Flower girl £ 30 ebay
Shoesx2 £ 30 ebay
Kilt hire x2 £100 adult full shebang kid full shebang
Flowers £ 50 2xbouquets 1x wand 2xheathers(im making my own
bouquet out of old brooches)
Entertainment £100 DJ
Favours £40 30 x black boxes 30 x times tags lace trim and 150
x just married rock
Cake £15 cupcakes for kids(my friend is making my big cake)
Cars £150 Stetch limo
Decorations £35.50 6xfish bowls=£18 16x floating candels=£13 200
x rose petals =£4.50
Photography £370 friends of ours
Invites £40 ebay
Rings £215 2x wedding bands
extra £100

£1475.50

So as you can see its a ebay and homemade wedding with lots of sparkle.
But I would love to cuut costs else where but I just can't think what else I can do.

The venue we are looking at has quoted us £2819 for everything but we would need all of the above ontop of that as well as the registrar.

Any tips or idea's I would really appreciate

What day are you marrying on? Weekday weddings can be a lot cheaper if you are able?

cant be of much help as we are having the same dilema! we are doing the same homemade and ebay for as much as possible but the venue and meal are the huge chunk of the cost which obviously cant be altered. sucks there are no cheaper (nice) venues around us.
Let me know if you come up with any other ideas!! good luck!

Dont know if you have booked and paid for the limo yet, but we went to the local family-run (def not one of the corporate ones) taxi company and they do a few executive cars! We got a 2 yr old light blue jag with cream leather interior and they even put ivory ribbon on the front for £50! they even waited an hour at the wedding venue to take us to the reception!

Your overall costs arent far from mine, apart from my friend did the photography for free which was a blessing! Photos and album were stunning!

We had a lunch reception in a church hall so our food and venue costs were low!

Have a look in the sale for flower girls dresses! We got 3 in debenhams that were i think 75% off!

A few ideas! Hehe! Good luck with the rest of the plans!
