My fiancé have been friends for 8 years now.
We dated 11 months before he asked me to marry him.
We have been engaged for 4 months and getting married less than 2 weeks.

We'd been together 2 years and when we get married in Sept we'd have been engaged a year and 10 months so nearly another 2.
I'm 25 and he's 47

and when we marry we'd have been together for 4 years.
We've never cared what people think!

We moved in together after 4 months, got engaged last November (so after 3.5 years together) then got married last Saturday (14th April)! We decided once we were engaged there was no point in waiting, we'd held off getting engaged until we could afford the wedding so just went for it!
I'm 22 (23 in June) and DH is 24 (25 in August). We moved out when we were 19 and 21 and we got a variety of comments ranging from "it's too soon" to "she'll be pregnant by Christmas" (we moved out 1st Dec 2008). Neither one happened. Luckily our families were both extremely supportive but at the end of the day no one knows your relationship better than you

I'm 23 DF is 25 became official 30/05/10 moved in together after 18 months of being together got engaged 2/3/12 and getting married 30/05/15 so 5 years together by then n will be TTC after we get hitched so we will be 26 and 28

We got engaged after 4months together, and lived together after 1 month. We have now been together nearly 5 years, getting married next year. We are both 26.

Dont worry about what people think, as long as you and your OH are happy together, thats all that matters.

We are both 19, he proposed to me May 1st 2011, we started dating May 1st 2008. No date set, as my pregnancy and now daughter was a surprise. We also have VERY different views on our wedding so we'll probably never get married.

Together for 3 years when he proposed and will have been together 5.5 years when we get married.

I agree with Red there is no right or wrong way just do what feels right xxx

My oh proposed on xmas day (2011) after 8.5 years together :0)

We are getting married next month when weve been together 9 years...5 weeks & 6 days not that im counting haha!!

My OH is 30 & Ill be 30 in July xxxx

I have to admit I do think "wowza" when i hear about people getting engaged/married when theyve not been together that long.. especially when theyre young, teenagers, early 20's etc..only because i know how much IVE changed as a person since I first met my OH at 21!! I think when youre in your 30's + you have perhaps more "life " experience, good & bad relationships & perhaps know what you want or definitely dont want in a person then "whirlwind romances" are more 'acceptable' if you know what i mean??

I dont mean to provoke debate, just what i think!! Having said this people who have been together ten years are just as likely to get divorced as though who have been together just one year so

We got engaged 2.5 years after first meeting. Moved in together after 1.5 years, bought a house 2.5 years after getting together (he proposed when we got the keys to our house). Will have been engaged for 14 months when we marry.x
