Anterior placenta and csection

This will be my second csection, was told at my 12 week ultrasound that I have anterior placenta again. Im worried that there is a chance my placenta has grown into my scar. I know that it's rare but has anyone had placenta accreta. How were you diagnosed. I have a feeling my ob will blow this off but I just want to make sure that I get properly checked out and diagnosed. Thanks 😙

Hey FTM here with a anterior PP. I'm 31 weeks and will have another scan 12/21/15 at 34+4. I was informed I had a low lying PP very early on in my pregnancy. I want to say at 8-10 weeks. So far I haven't had any bleeding. Only spotting once which was minimal...no pad or liner needed. It was only on tissue and that was after intercourse. I was put on Pelvic Rest at 22 weeks and haven't been taken off as of yet. They told me on Monday if I had any bleeding spotting included to come in immediately. I would love some ladies to wait this out with. Have you been through this before? I wish I knew what to expect.

At my 20 week appointment was told that I have a low lying placenta. Have another ultrasound in 10 weeks. Hoping that the placenta moved up and away from the scar. OB told me that if they suspect that placenta has grown into the scar, I will get an mri. And if it's confirmed, I will need a hysterectomy 😢

Wow that's pretty drastic? Are your sure it's definite and not just a possibility? I know it's not what you want to hear from the doctors but I do know how serious that condition can be but so in some ways you have to be grateful that at least they've noticed it and you and baby will get the best care possible

Placenta Accreta is serious. But it doesn't ALWAYS result in hysterectomy. Just that the risks are much higher. It can and it's very scary to have. But your dr being thorough and being on top of a quick and sure diagnosis is the only way to go. Make sure they stay on top of it and don't let them tell you that you absolutely will need a hysterectomy. that is false information! and if they are pushing you to that PLEASE seek a second opinion!!!! BUT it IS a very serious thing!!!

My ob told me that if it's confirmed that I have acreeta, she she will not risk peeling the placenta away from my uterus. She said that it will cause massive hemorrhage. So she said the safest option is to do a hysterectomy. I will definitely get a second opinion. thanx for the input ladies

I hope everything works out, I know it must be devastating facing a hysterectomy but the main thing is you and baby are ok x x

I was more or less told the same thing today! Planned c-section 10 days before due date but was told placenta is low and partially covering cervix. Had to sign consent forms for blood transfusion & hysterectomy... Was told higher chance of complications with placenta if you have had a cesarean before (especially an emergency one)

Hoping and praying for a smooth delivery for us all xx

I'm in the same boat! Was flagged at 12 weeks with a low lying placenta that is anterior. Accreta suspected during a very detailed 20 week ultrasound with maternal fetal specialist and my OB. I left crying my eyes out. They also told me to prepare for a possible hysterectomy. I'm terrified. I have a follow up ultrasound feb 3 and am really praying it somehow changes direction. I'm afraid of hemorrhaging and I do not want a transfusion!!! Very stressed over here

During your 20 week anatomy scan they will check if the placenta has grown into the scar or not.
I'm having my 4th baby (3rd csection) and this is my 2nd anterior placenta and they checked at my u/s Over a week ago. All is fine for me and I'm sure it will be for you as well. It's not a common thing to happen. The OB would need to know this before a csection so I don't see him not being thorough with this information as he would be liable if anythjbg happened!
Hang in there mama and try not to worry....it's likely that all will be ok!!!
