C section and exercise

Hello ladies,

I had an emergency csection almost 5 weeks ago. Everything has been going well and on my last doctor's visit 2 weeks ago he told me I could start easing into exercising when baby is 5 weeks old.

I am a fitness instructor and I do teach Zumba, pilates, weight classes and yoga. So I am thinking about starting some of my classes next week when baby is almost 6 weeks old. I just need to put it on my had I need to move slower like when I was pregnant.

What do you girls think? This is my first baby and my first csection. When did you start exercising again?

I was back playing competitive ice hockey 4wks after both my 1st and 2nd C-sections. I had it on the back of my mind to take it easy and not do anything crazy. It all went fine.

I think that you need to listen to your body...if you start to ache or hurt then stop and rest - doing too much now may cause more damage and prolong your overall recovery
