hmmm, thats a tough one. When Evan didn't latch on at the beginning we tried aptimel, I think that it advertises itself as closest to breast milk. But if your baby doesn't like it I would just try the next one that appeals to you , I think they are all quite similar - but i'm prepared to be corrected

I combi fed from day one. I was expressing breast milk all day and making 2-3 bottles for night feeding and i have used SMA from day one and never had a problem with it x x

I've used Aptamil for Evie since stopping BF when she was 2 weeks old and she's always been fine on it. It makes for intersting poos tho, they look like they've come from a breastfed baby lol!
When I had my first daughter I used SMA and that gave her terrible constipation so I was determined not to use it this time around. Aptamil has been good for us so far

Maybe it's not the brand of milk that your LO dislikes but the fact that it's not breast milk

My daughter wouldn't take aptamil after I stopped breastfeeding either but she loved cow and gate comfort, but my Jack loves his aptamil- all very different

They say Aptamil is the closest, but I think they mean in regards to the ingredients. I could be wrong, but I don't think the powdery taste is has is anything like breastmilk would be My daughter seems to like it; I don't understand why, but I'm not about to question her!

I'm so sad that I have actually tasted them all Aptamil is definitely the closest in taste and consistency - well to my taste buds anyway LOL

I think that Mynx is probably right - when you give LO a bottle LO can smell her 'proper' milk on you and wants the real thing LOL ... try getting someone else to feed it to her while you are not around (or at least are downwind ) and see if that works before you go on a formula spending spree

Aptamil LOOKS exactly like BM - if you put a bottle of EBM and Aptamil next to each other (as long as the powder is properly dissolved!) you can't tell them apart - which I did when I was combi feeding and would get the two confused - never tasted them tho so can't comment on that one! Also, Aptamil makes their poo look just the same as a BF baby. Aptamil and Cow and Gate are made by the same company though so if your baby doesn't get on with Aptamil maybe try Cow and Gate? My HV told me SMA is the richest of the formulas and can cause constipation but don't know if this is true or not, although you do hear it a lot on the boards. Sounds to me like your baby needs to get used to the taste of formula. Like one poster said you will smell of BM so maybe could someone else give the bottle of formula for a while until baby gets used to it? Baby might take it better then :-) I was lucky when combi feeding in that my son took aptamil exactly the same as EBM.
