SMA easy digest - reviews is it best easy digest formula

OK so HV recomended we switch to a easy digest formula, so DF brought sma's version.

It says to heat water keep in fridge add powder to cold water and heat if required! SO this is what I did, however it didn't come through tommee tippe stage 1 teats, and still had bits in. Plus gerogina couldn't drink due to not coming through the teat and even with the variflo teats for tommee tippee it still wasn't flowing, I noticed it's a lot more sticky. But instructions say you can feed through normal teat. Plus your not allowed to shake it suppost to roll in hands vigorously!

So question is has anyone else had this, had similar problem, know why it has to be made in fride cold water and not shaken?

Plus is this the best easy digest formula or would you recommend something else, i was thinking more along the lines of cow and gate comfort, but df went and got formula so chose the sma one cos she currenlty has sma.

Thanks xxx

i had this problem with the cow and gate comfort milk, it has thickening agents in (that look like little crystals), thats why it settles better in tummies, i now make it with hot water and it disolves properly (and i shake) max has had no ill effects from making it up with hot water first then leaving to cool in fridge or shaking the bottle

cow and gate do suggest going up a teat size though, so i went from avent size 1 to size 2. as long as the bits have disolved (with hot water) it comes out of this fine.

So do you make up all feeds with powder in advance?

Whats your process if that makes sense?

i make up his feeds in the mornings and put them in the fridge. i know this is not what they tell you to do these days, but its what many older people i have spoken to did with their children including my mum)

every morning i steralise his bottles, boil a kettle, put the water in the bottles and add the powder, shake, and put in the fridge. it works for us and weve had no problems after nearly 2 months of doing it this way

you will find that you will need to clean the scoop every day though coz when you put the powder in hot water the steam makes some of the powder stick to the scoop.
