Is this too much formula?

Hi all,

My son is now 3.5 weeks old. He has been feeding well since he was born but I am a bit worried that he seems to want increasing amount of formula.

He will usually go 4 hours between feeds, sometimes slightly more/ slightly less, usually 5 hours at night so gets about 6 bottles in 24 hrs. He always takes at least 4 ozs but will often drain a 6 oz bottle.

Is this too much? When he starts draining all 6oz bottles do I need to up it to 7 oz??

Thanks!!!

As soon as our LO was draining a bottle, we upped the ounces. "If they leave less than an ounce, add an ounce" I've been told. Our LO was on 6oz by the time he was 4 weeks old - but he's a big baby (his birth weight was 10lb 5oz).

Hope this helps x

I also know of a baby that takes this much, just add an oz and hopefully that will satisfy him, once he drains that up again as Kerry. says.
