How many feeds per day?

I started ff yesterday, my mw said to think of it as every ounce he has for an hour, so he's having 4oz and then resting for 4 hours, he's sleeping for that length of time but that means he's only getting 6 feeds a day - should he be feeding more?xxx

Ah thanks, I'm giving him about the right amount then, I think he's still rooting for comfort afterwards and Iv been worrying that he's still hungry but I guess he will get used to using something other than boob to settle him!xx

hope your both doing good

im doing 6oz every 3 hours for my lo so shes feeding well and gaining lots of weight,
sometimes she'll have 4oz but other times she'll drain the 6oz.

She seems to go for about an hour or so longer during the night.

Hey, yeah last night he went from half 12 til quarter to six, I'm glad I did bf but it really wasn't for me or Charlie, he latched and relatched every couple of minutes which was really painful and frustrating for me and made Charlie really frustrated as well, it was really getting me down and I really hated it, I wasn't enjoying being a mum and I didn't have the energy to have patience with Charlie when he was crying because he was literally feeding all day every daybwith maybe an hour gap if I was lucky. I know it's only been a couple of days but I feel so much better and Ive had such a nice day with him today, I've had the energy to really play with him properly and he's a lot more content how are you getting on Hun?xxx

Have you had an answer on Charlies Jaundice yet? I know what you mean about the BFing because Shane my eldest wouldn't latch properly and he would just scream and get really frustrated so I ended up FF him.
Frankie is a little gem though, he's normally very content and now goes from 7-8pm to about 2-3am for a feed so i can now get an early night if i want one
