i've swirled, i've shaken, i've done both for 5 mins and still it blocks, and at 5am or whenever she wakes its not fun

Hi, are you talking about SMA Staydown? The one in the purple coloured tin?
We used this for my son, he had silent reflux.
We made his bottles up by filling sterilised bottles with boiled water, then it was left on the side to cool, so it was always at room temp. We added the milk before his feed and rolled the bottles between the palms of our hands to mix it up. We never had to do anything like you are describing?!?!?
Toby used Dr Browns bottles, teat level 3. We also never had an issue with the teats clogging up.
I'd recommend changing the way you make up the milk or changing bottles / teats - I'm not sure there is anything else to suggest?!? Personally I wouldn't change the milk if he's on it for reflux.

have changed the water filter in the kettle and the issue seems to have resolved itself! seems the hardness of the water is the issue.

the HV said others in the area were having issues with staydown as well, so it must be related to the water. after a chat with the HV we decided to trial SMA gold at night only to see how she goes with it. she's doing a lot better having that and gavison mixed in, however is only drinking 3oz and drifting peacefully back to sleep.

such a change from the screaming night feeds we had last week.

We have been on SMA Staydown from about 6 months old and do exsatly this. I know it says to use refrigerated water, but we use room temp water. And dont shake, roll and swirl...

the teat is blocking mid feed have tried travel caps as when we were mixing it i thought that might be the issue.....

at night we were making it up from room temp and it was still not mixing right...... wondering if we use bottled water if that would solve it

because its such an issue can you make a bottle before you go to bed pop it in the fridge and use it for the next feed (be it 3 am or 7am)? I used to make up 2 bottles before bed to get me over the night- otherwise i was too sleep deprived to count scoops.
