How do you know when to change teats?

Hi ladies,

My LG has been really hungry recently but only taking small amounts - was wondering if the teat isn't fast enough for her? She is using the first size ones and is now 1 month old. I tried the size 2 teats, but just checking I'm not doing anything wrong by changing now? xxx

I changed my LOs at around that age, I noticed it was a problem because he was getting frustrated and would stop eating during the feed. I would hear him sucking very hard constantly. Once I changed it to level 2s all that stopped.

I changed Ryland's pretty quickly too it seemed.
He was getting so frustrated during his feeds and would just get so worked up, so the only options I had to change to were 3months or 3-6months.

So I got the 3 months ones (medium flow) and he seems to be a lot happier

marthas 10 weeks and were on size 2

we have just changed to size twos, i had a sleepy feeder who couldnt be bothered to suck in the night.

The stages on teats are only a rough guide and changing size earlier or later than stated it perfectly fine if it's what your baby needs. DD2 went up to 2m+ teats at 5 weeks, but is still not on the 4m+ ones as these seem very fast and the 2m+ ones suit her fine. xx
